The Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University and his delegate visit the National College of Automotive Technology

13th May 2018, Muscat – Dr. Ali Bin Saud Al Baimani, Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University and his delegate conducted an official visit to the National College of Automotive Engineering to search for areas of mutual collaborations between the two. Mr. Maqbool Ali Sultan Chairman of College Board of Directors, Mr. Hani Al Zubair the Vice Chairman and Mr. Haji Al Balushi College Dean warmly welcomed the delegate.

During the visit, a visual video on the college was presented followed by a presentation on the idea of college establishment through labor market analysis, educational and vocational programs the college offers, and institutional and academic accreditations the college has obtained throughout its operational journey. Later to that, a discussion session was held on possibilities of cooperation between Sultan Qaboos University and the National College of Automotive Technology. As an opportunity to be immediately equipped with the academic achievement and vocational training outputs, the delegate toured college main campus located in the south Al Ma’abillah.

HE Dr. Ali Bin Saud Al Baimani, Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University, stressed that the University is looking forward to opening bridges of cooperation with the College. There are many aspects of cooperation either in the field of vocational training or the establishment of joint incubators to graduate Omani entrepreneurs as there are arising needs to manage car repair workshops by local cadres. This cooperation will incredibly contribute to manage the tremendous development in the Automotive sector. For his part, said Haji Balushi, Dean of the National College of Automotive Technology:

Sultan Qaboos University will be able to take advantage of all the facilities and capabilities provided by the College in the fields of Automotive engineering and Automotive technology along with other cooperative aspects, most notably is the scientific research, which is a key element to enrich the automotive sector. The cooperation may extend to allow the exchange of students and the conduction of joint research to develop technologies used in the manufacture of existing vehicles which follow the guidelines of health and safety. Towards the end of the visit, it was agreed with the Vice Chancellor of the University to draft a cooperation agreement for joint work in particular with the Department of Engineering and Mechanics. The college will significantly benefit from this cooperation as it desires to be the distinguished pioneer academic and vocational education & training College in the automotive sector.
