27th April 2017, Muscat – Meeting with approximately 1,000 visitors as Silver Sponsor of the Omanisation Career Fair (OCF), the National Automotive Higher Institute recently delivered the slogan ‘Get Your Career Through NAHI’ at 2016’s edition of the OCF. The nation’s first specialized automotive institution put full throttle on engaging different age groups to raise awareness of its technical education and vocational training programs, as well as the rising opportunities presented by the local industry.
The fair was recently held in Muscat at the Oman International Exhibition Centre, hosting a plethora of dynamic exhibitors like NAHI, which drove a vibrant three-day engagement with tens of thousands in attendance overall. NAHI’s attendance marked the first time for a local internationally accredited automotive educator to exhibit in Oman.
“Our feedback from visitors at OCF was outstanding; young people were proud of what we have accomplished and felt that NAHI offered them alternative opportunities to traditional educational. Some job seekers have not completed Grade 12 which limits their competitiveness and opportunities within the local job market; however, through the Competency Programme offered by NAHI, they can pursue their interests and utilize their talents in a growing local industry that has over 50,000 jobs for the taking,” said Haji Al Balushi, General Manager of NAHI.
Al Balushi added, “Due to the amount of attention job fairs receive from job seekers, NAHI knew that supporting and exhibiting at the OCF was a key opportunity. To our delight this year’s immense turnout delivered an unimaginable space for us to demonstrate our potential as a pioneering institute of teaching excellence in Oman’s emerging automotive industry.”
NAHI delivers a number of courses and programmes with a view to provide local people with the prospect of developing their skills and professional competencies to boost their employment opportunities. It currently delivers internationally accredited training, recognized by the United Kingdom’s Institute of the Motor Industry, in addition to diplomas, competency based training and short courses.
